Artist and body architect Lucy McRae will further accompany artist Lena Becerra as she further develops Gestational Interface. McRae said: “I’m curious about Lena’s exploration into so many in-betweens: conceptually, materially and in-between exhibition, installation, dance, and performance. I’m looking forward to discovering with Lena how a stage performance tethers to an exhibition of machines, membranes, and oozing liquids. I’m excited to see where she takes her ambitions with this project!”

Lena Becerra explores prosthetic ecologies and speculative anatomies at the intersection of art, philosophy, science, and technology. Her immersive installation Gestational Interface is composed of bodyscale prosthetic ecosystems that circulate, leak, and respond to proximity.
Wearable elements extend the body, linking sensation and movement to a larger responsive system. Through sensors and feedbackloops, the work activates vibration, pressure, and shifting tensions. The installation evolves continuously, unfolding through activation and moments of choreographed engagement. It also foregrounds its mechanisms—tubing, fluids, andstructure—thus inviting attunement to breath, gesture, and shared transformation within a permeable, living ecosystem.
The Festival featured the live activation of the pieces with contortionist and mouth-hanging artist Gonzalo Becerra.
