Driving the Human (2020–2023)
Seven Prototypes for Eco-social Renewal
From 2020 to 2023, the scientific and artistic collaboration Driving the Human developed and produced seven tangible prototypes responding to complex contemporary scenarios. The project was jointly led by four partner institutions—acatech – National Academy of Science and Engineering, Forecast, the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design and ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe—and relied on the expert knowledge and skills of their combined networks. Together, these partners worked to enrich the various developments and outcomes of the initiative.

The following Code of Conduct is an integral part of any and all employments, collaborations, or otherwise business relationships Skills e.V. enters into.
Cooperation is what Forecast is founded on and committed to. Cooperation based on artistic freedom, empathy, and respect.
We believe that individuals can only create together in a meaningful way if their humanity is embodied in the act of listening. Calm, patient, and generous listening. A listening that entails the willingness to question one’s own convictions, to reevaluate, to change course, to accept differing or even colliding perspectives and worldviews, and to admit mistakes in order to move forward towards a cooperative mode.
Discrimination, derogatory language, and any type of harassment or aggression will not be tolerated in our program or business relationships. We condemn all forms of othering, including racism, antisemitism, islamophobia, sexism, transphobia, queerphobia, hostility towards disabled people, and classism.
We want our mentees and mentors, our external experts, and all our partners and allies to be able to rely on mutual respect for different perspectives as well as for individual artistic expression, which is the foundation of our work.
