As 2018 is coming to a close, we’re happy to announce a few exciting updates for the coming year. First, Forecast has a new institutional partner: starting in 2019, the Forecast Forum and the Forecast Festival will take place at Radialsystem, Berlin’s interdisciplinary space for art and ideas on the banks of the river Spree. We would like to warmly thank the Haus der Kulturen der Welt for a successful three-year collaboration, and for the generosity and expertise of its staff.
Our new partner, the Radialsystem, enjoys strong links to Berlin’s independent performance and music scene, and has become a hub for international experimental productions. The venue’s multispace structure offers great flexibility in staging presentations and engaging the public, which makes it a perfect partner for Forecast.
Another important update to Forecast’s framework is reflected in the timeline, which we’ve extended: Starting with our upcoming fourth edition, mentees will have a longer and more comprehensive work period with their mentors. This will also include a one-on-one workshop at a hosting partner institution. In addition, we are delighted to announce that thanks to our funding partners, Forecast is able to increase each mentee’s production budget.
The next call for applications will be announced on our website and social media channels on January 22, 2019, when we will also reveal the six mentors and the respective fields of focus for Forecast 4.
